Happy Face program

A Christmas tradition of care.

The Fluvanna Christian Service Society has sponsored the annual Happy Face Party since 1974.

The Fluvanna County Department of Social Services, Region Ten, the Health Department, and the Child Health Partnership send letters to the county's qualifying families to determine if they would like to attend the party. Due to the religious nature of the party, which includes the story of Jesus Christ's birth and a birthday cake dedicated to Him, the board of FCSS realizes not all citizens of Fluvanna County celebrate Christmas.

Every child who attends the party will take home an age-appropriate toy, books, a stuffed animal, a winter coat, and a pair of pajamas. Each family also receives a food voucher to a local food market.

Families get to participate in a free raffle to win some of the major gifts that have been donated.

Senior citizens who are shut-in or are struggling financially also benefit from the Happy Face Party with gift items.

The Happy Face Christmas Party is a success because of people like you, generous Flucos, who are willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need.
